Ohai!
So it's the weekend, and I'm bored. And what do I do when I'm bored? Post stuff on the internet!
Nothing has really happened to me since the last time I posted, so.. I'M GOING TO WRITE ABOUT DOCTOR WHO. MK?
Ok. Well, people are always asking me which Doctor (of the new series) I like the best. I always have lots of trouble answering though, because quite honestly-- I think they're all brilliant. Each Doctor has brought a little bit of their own character into the role, and done a fantastic job doing so. So now I shall regale you with an analyses of all three portrayals of the Doctors.
No spoilers! :D
Christopher Eccleston
Ahhh, the memories. Do you remember Christopher Eccleston? I sure do. Years ago, I remember my dad being all excited about the new series of Doctor Who starring Christopher Eccleston. Now, being much younger at the time, I never really thought too deeply about what I liked and disliked about Christopher. However, I have watched several episodes from the first season over and over again, and I think I can recall a thing or two.
Since Christopher Eccleston was the doctor I got to know, I'll admit that I have a bit of biased allegiance to him. I wouldn't go so far as to say he's my favourite Doctor, but I will say that he was the perfect Doctor to re-introduce the series with. While the fangirls may not like him because he isn't as 'young' or 'cute' as the two latest Doctors, Christopher Eccleston is still an image of everything that the Doctor is. Personally, I think that he acts exactly like a lonely time traveller would. But in a way, I find that all the Doctors do. So I won't get into that.
What really stands out to me about Christopher Eccleston, is his ability to seem tough and tender at the same time. Christopher was different from the other doctors in the sense that he actually seemed like someone people would fear. I mean, the Doctor makes whole evil races flee from planets. He makes hooligans GIVE candy to babies. Christ, the Doctor's amazing skills of logic even make Chuck Norris run away. So why do most portrayals of him seem so... unthreatening? I'm not saying that Christopher is the type of person you'd run away from on the street, or even the type of person that would really instill much fear in you. He's just... Well, he's just a guy you listen to. If Christopher Eccleston tells you to do something, you do it! If Christopher Eccleston wants the truth, you tell it! If Christopher Eccleston wants a blow job, you get down on your knees and-- Okay, sorry, that was a bit uncalled for. But the fact remains... Christopher Eccleston is a badass! Okay, no, that's not what the message I was trying to convey, but it's true.
But anyway. What I was really trying to say (before my scrambled brain got distracted) is that Christopher is someone who really seems like authority. You know to listen to him, because it's obvious that he knows what he's doing. And while he's someone you know you don't want to cross, he's also someone you know to trust. He's authority, but good authority. KIND OF LIKE DUMBLEDORE! Well that was a spontaneous epiphany, so there you have it. Christopher Eccleston is.. a badass authority figure who's reminiscent of Dumbledore?
Man, this is not going the way I expected it to.
This is what happens when you start writing with no plan!
David Tennant
Okay. So any typical fangirl will tell you that David Tennant is the BEST DOCTURR EVAAARRRR. And honestly... I agree with them. However, my opinion is not based solely on the fact that ZOMGGGGG HE'S SOO SMEXII or OMFGWTFBBQ HE WAS IN HARRY POTTER (though I'll admit that those may be contributing factors), and is actually more based on the bundle of sheer awesomness, great acting and raw emotion that he truly is.
Now, David Tennant really is awesome, but honestly-- there isn't all that much to say about him. I guess what I admire the most about him is the amount of versatility he has when it came to his character. Throughout his time as the Doctor, he had just the right amounts of comedic moments, teasingly romantic moments, action-y moments (aren't I just oh-so articulate?), and emotional moments. And Oh My God. He portrayed them all so so so well. I mean, seriously. Don't you remember crying when the Doctor-- in anguish-- said softly "I don't want to go", before re-generating? Yep, that's the magic of David Tennant. He milks every performance to be the best it can be-- without overdoing it, of course.
Now, I wish I could write more about David Tennant.. But I feel like if I really try to explain what I mean, it'll end up being way too long. And I know that makes it seem like I was wasting your time by writing that and not explaining, but y'know, I'm thinking that people already probably know exactly what I mean. Also, you're reading my blog.. which means you're wasting your time either way, and probably don't have anything better to do anyway. ;D
(jaykay, love you guys.)
So anyway. Let's get down to the point, here.
... HAVE YOU SEEN WHAT THAT MAN CAN DO WITH HIS EYEBROWS?!
Like, seriously. It amazes me!
Here, I shall provide you with some examples.

AAAAAND DRUMROLL. MOVING ON TO...
MATT SMITH!
Okay, while I don't entirely hate Matt Smith, he's definitely not my favourite Doctor. Honestly, I think the writers were trying to satisfy the fangirls too much by trying to make him act more like David Tennant-- a feat that could obviously not be attained, considering this guy doesn't even have eyebrows.
Seriously, though? I don't like Matt Smith. While they seem to be trying to recreate David Tennant with him, they're only trying to recreate the humourous side of him. Jokes are lovely, and sometimes serious moments do need to be entwined with comic relief. But Matt Smith takes it too far (well, y'know, the writers who write Matt Smith's lines and stuff do). Even on the odd occasion where Matt Smith is being serious, there's something... missing. Idunno. He's just not good at it.
Now don't get me wrong, I do like Matt Smith! I think he makes a brilliant Doctor. He just needs more emotion from time to time. But then again, the fact of the matter is that Matt Smith has not been on the show very long. I mean, he's only been here for one season! He hasn't been here long enough to be a part of major major events and plot turns. I'm confident that he'll prove himself soon. And I do love certain things about him, like his chemistry with Amy, and--of course-- his funny-ness.
All in all, Matt Smith brings a hilarious and charming front to the Doctor. Not to mention.. HE BROUGHT BACK THE BOW TIE. Did anyone else watch the older Doctor Who? Because I did, and I had a spazz when Matt Smith brought back the bow tie. Also, does anyone else find him ridiculously reminiscent of the Seventh Doctor?
vs
Okay. Well maybe they don't exactly look the same. But y'know, their character, and the style of their stories and stuf'z.
Well sigh.
This post is getting awfully scrambled, and I'm venturing into talking about old Doctor Who, which even the most dedicated fangirls don't care about.
So yeah. This is where I'll end the post. XD
Dedicatedly yours,
Kori <3
:D
Ps; I DIDN'T MEAN TO HAVE THIS WHOLE THING HIGHLIGHTED. I hate it. I want it to go away. It's ugly. I can't figure out how, though. Like, without editing the CSS style, which would take forever. XD So, please help me.

LOL THIS WAS SO AWESOME. DAVID TENNANTS EYEBROWS <3
